Table Church

There’s room for all at our Table.

The first Christians had three things….a table or meeting place, a story of a great person who shared the knowledge that all are beloved in the eyes of God, and an empty chair - a place to welcome the stranger.

We are seekers, people who looking for ways to practice, integrate, deepening and engaging our faith.

Our goals are to:

1.  To support all families/individuals in the Fairfield United community – whether or not they have children- in the development of their Christian faith

2.  To establish practices in the home so that families/individuals can grow in faith. (prayer, meditation – including learning styles)

3.  To increase the level of Biblical and theological engagement within the community, to come to know our story and traditions.

4.  To help families/individuals more fully integrate faith and life, in the community, in school.

5.  To enrich and bless family meal and gathering time.

We will seek to:

1.  Create resources for each liturgical season that are user friendly for a variety of ages.

2.  Identify resources that already exist to meet the above goal.

3. Create daily table practices for families including Bible verses, graces, prayers, conversation starters, etc.

4.  Provide simple symbols that would establish the foundation of a table altar.

5. Provide ideas for families to enhance the table altar during the liturgical season.

And so we begin as a community of Faith

We gather as individuals and family as a community around a table, as individuals and identify resources that already exist to meet the above goal. Here are some Spiritual practices:

In this unusual time we are looking for opportunities to deepen our faith. We have our Story, our Table and an empty chair. These are all of the elements that we need to form our faith and worship at home.
