“Come, come, whoever you are
Wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving – it doesn’t matter,
Ours is not a caravan of despair.
Come even if you have broken your vow a hundred times.
Come, come again, come.”

– Rumi, translated by Coleman Barks

Beth is skilled at creating community and a sense of belonging. Her passion is to create and to experience connecting our everyday life story to the ancient Biblical stories and faith traditions. Her ministry in the United Church both volunteered and paid, spans 15 years. Before that, she practiced interior design. She is a diaconal minister, a graduate of the Center for Christian Studies and Spiritual Director from the Pacific Jubilee program. She says her understanding of God comes from the abundant community found in community. She experiences God in dialogue and through spiritual practices such as silence and art.  She loves to have coffee with the folks – don’t be afraid to say hello!

Meet the Team! ‍

It takes a village… or at least a really wonderful team.

We’re grateful for the talented people who keep life at Fairfield United Church (and All Souls!) humming along each week.

From left to right:

Beth – Lead Minister. Usually found with coffee in one hand and a new idea in the other.

Alistair Howe – Our Food Security Garden champion from FED Urban Agriculture. Each week he lovingly tends, harvests food for Our Place Society, and occasionally convinces vegetables to do remarkable things.

Emily – You’ll recognize Emily on Sunday mornings, and now you’ll also find her in the office on Wednesday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Stop by and say hello!

Madisen – Our Community Engagement Coordinator, connecting people, organizing events, answering questions, and somehow keeping all the moving pieces moving in roughly the same direction.

Adam – Our Music Director, filling our worship with beauty, joy, and the occasional tune that stays with you all week.

Missing is Tyson, our Sunday Tech who keeps our Sunday mornings in the sanctuary and online true YouTube and Facebook.

Now… if you’re thinking, “Wait a minute… something about this photo doesn’t quite add up,” congratulations—you’ve spotted it!

This isn’t AI. Adam couldn’t be there when we took the photo, so we employed the ancient and sacred art of “adding him in later.” We considered calling it a miracle, but “photo editing” seemed more theologically accurate.

Either way, we’re delighted to have one complete team photo—and even more grateful for the remarkable people who help make this community such a wonderful place to belong.
