The aspect of Fairfield United Church that I value is…
I treasure being part of a courageous/awake faith community. We willingly and trustfully follow the leadership of Rev. Beth Walker, who recognizes and teaches that “church” can survive and thrive in a new way; that detaching from the “familiar,” including crumbling bricks and mortar, and embracing modalities current for the time we live in delivers new hope.
In order for “church“ to gain new life, I pledge to lean into a new way of being and breathe into the new with all my body, heart, mind and soul. It is a tremendous honour to serve the greater good of all.
My participation in the community of Fairfield United Church
I am humbled to bring what I treasure as God-given gifts to serve and hold space as an emotional intuitive and energy balancing practitioner in group leadership, in the community, and as a council member.
The writings of Teresa of Avila, born in 1515, deeply touch me.
“Christ has no body now on earth but yours,no hands but yours,no feet but yours,Yours are the eyes through which to look outChrist’s compassion to the worldYours are the feet with which he is to go about doing good;Yours are the hands with which he is to bless men now.”
Church helps me to… I am grateful to have found a faith family beyond the comfort of immediate family and friends. I embrace that there is strength in the differences between us and that every human being holds a profound secret and mystery; every one of us belongs. I attach a great deal of importance to the exploration my comfort zones, and I aspire to reach deeper to gain insights into both my weaknesses and strengths so that I may continue to evolve.
